What is Remedial Massage?

At Holism, we deliver expert remedial massage therapy.

Our qualified therapists take a holistic approach, using a range of techniques tailored to you and your comfort level. We prioritise connecting with you to understand your needs and achieve the best results.

Techniques may include:

  • A technique that applies firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. It helps break up scar tissue, relieve chronic pain, and improve mobility by targeting areas of tension and tightness

  • Focuses on releasing tight, hyper-irritable spots within muscles (trigger points) that cause pain and discomfort. By applying direct pressure, this technique helps relieve referred pain and restore normal muscle function.

  • A gentle technique that reduces muscle tension and pain by positioning the body in a way that allows muscles to relax naturally. It is effective for treating acute pain and restricted movement.

  • Uses fine, sterile needles inserted into trigger points or tight muscle bands to reduce pain, improve blood flow, and restore normal function. It is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain and movement dysfunction.

  • A therapy that uses suction cups to lift the skin and fascia, improving blood circulation, reducing muscle tension, and promoting tissue healing. It is beneficial for releasing fascial restrictions and speeding up recovery.

  • A combination of precise pressure and movement techniques that help release tight muscles, break down adhesions, and improve flexibility. It is commonly used for injury recovery and performance enhancement.

  • A gentle, sustained pressure technique aimed at releasing tight connective tissue (fascia) to reduce pain, restore movement, and improve overall function. It is particularly effective for chronic pain and postural imbalances.

  • (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) – A technique that combines stretching with isometric muscle contractions to improve flexibility, strength, and muscle activation. It is widely used in rehabilitation and athletic performance training.

  • A hands-on therapy where the client actively engages their muscles against resistance to correct imbalances, improve joint mobility, and reduce pain. It is commonly used to treat postural issues and restricted movement.

  • A highly effective manual therapy that combines precise pressure with movement to break down scar tissue and adhesions in muscles, tendons, and nerves. It is particularly beneficial for treating overuse injuries, improving mobility, and reducing chronic pain.
